The Region of Murcia Brussels Office was set up in 1989 by Instituto de Fomento de la Región de Murcia (INFO) and it has been part of Autonomous Community’s organisational structure since 1996. The office is currently managed by Instituto de Fomento de la Región de Murcia and the Directorate General for the European Union and International Action and Cooperation.

What is it?
- For providing information on European programmes and initiatives; facilitating contacts in institutions, organisms and European networks; fulfilling an accompaniment or representation role in events; resolving doubts about European regulations; and providing support for event organisation.
- Our office is available for holding European project meetings or for temporary stays.
- For monitoring the decision-making process and obtaining and disseminating information on European Union legislative initiatives, actions and programmes that affect regional competences or interests.
- For providing information and guidance on European Union funding programmes.
- For facilitating contact and meetings between social and economic agents and autonomous community authorities with representatives of EU institutions and other European organisms.
- For facilitating contact with other European regions in order to favour interregional cooperation.
What is its role?
- Support for institutional representation of the Region of Murcia.
- Tracking, analysing and disseminating EU programmes, initiatives and regulations that are of interest to the Region of Murcia.
- Identifying European programme funding and guidance opportunities throughout the life cycle of European projects.
- Support for Region of Murcia participation in EU decision-making processes through the established channels.
- Resolving consultations on European policies and programmes that stem from the regional government and other public and private entities in the region, as well as from individuals.
- Coordinating and arranging interviews and events between politicians and economic and social agents from the Region with European institutions and organisms, European networks and other entities located in the capital city of Belgium.
- The branch’s offices are used as a workspace for events further to requests made by entities from Murcia.
- Contribution towards an improved understanding of the Region of Murcia in Europe.

Any individual, business, organism or institution from the Region of Murcia.
How does it work?

The services that are provided are done so on a made-to-measure basis depending on individual needs and requirements. Therefore, it is important to get directly in touch with the office in order to develop a specific work plan.

Tres startups tecnológicas del ecosistema CEEIC reciben el sello EIBT por su innovación y potencial de crecimiento

Esta mañana se ha celebrado en el Centro Europeo de Empresas e Innovación de Cartagena (CEEIC) el acto oficial de entrega de los sellos EIBT (Empresa Innovadora de Base Tecnológica), concedidos por la Asociación Nacional de CEEIs (ANCES) y avalados por el Ministerio de Industria, Comercio y Turismo.

Tres startups aceleradas por el CEEIC han sido reconocidas por su alto grado de innovación, su base tecnológica y su potencial de crecimiento. Con ellas, ya son 40 las compañías tecnológicas que han logrado esta distinción.

Durante su intervención, el Director del Info, Joaquín Gómez, ha destacado que “el Gobierno regional apuesta firmemente por hacer de la I+D+i el músculo de la economía regional, por incentivar la innovación tecnológica en el ecosistema empresarial y por generar, retener y atraer nuevo talento de alta cualificación a la Región”.

Las startups galardonadas han sido Sicells, empresa biotecnológica que se dedica al desarrollo y comercialización de medicamentos biológicos veterinarios elaborados a partir de células madre y sus derivados para perros y gatos, especialmente en casos donde los tratamientos convencionales han resultado ineficaces; Coplain, startup que ha desarrollado un dispositivo IoT denominado CPI.EVO, diseñado para la detección temprana de plagas de insectos en entornos sensibles como hospitales, farmacias, hostelería y empresas de alimentación y Desarrollo Empresarial Kogorashi, empresa especializada en el diseño y desarrollo de soluciones avanzadas con ROVs (Vehículos Operados Remotamente), aplicables en sectores como la industria naval, el entorno offshore, la seguridad y el medioambiente.

Este acto de reconocimiento se enmarca en las acciones previstas por la Estrategia C(i*EMP) 2022–2025, que impulsa el emprendimiento en la Región de Murcia mediante programas de aceleración avanzada, enfocados en sectores estratégicos como la salud, agrofoodtech, logística, defensa, y de manera transversal, en el ámbito de la Industria 5.0.
